Computer im Film

Die Geschichte des Computers in Filmen ist eine Geschichte voller Mißverständnisse …

HAL in Stanley Kubricks Meisterwerk „2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968) ist noch immer Science Fiction.

Der Computer „Colossus” aus dem Film „Colossus, The Forbin Project” (1970) könnte schon/wurde bereits funktional so realisiert (werden).

Tron (1982) war eher sehr „futuristisch”.

Der IMSAI 8080 wurde in WarGames (1983) halbwegs glaubwürdig dargestellt (wenn man von der Sprachausgabe absieht).

Sneakers, mit Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Dan Aykroyd und River Phoenix zeigte zumindest auf, das sich das Leben als White-Hat Hacker nicht unbedingt auszahlt.

Relativ realistisch war hingegen das Computernetzwerk in Jurassic Park (1993). Lex Murphy (gespielt von Ariana Richards) nutzt den tatsächlich existierenden fsn („fusion” – File System Navigator) um durch das IRIX 4.0.5 Filesystem zu navigieren. Cisco even made a spoof of that.

Die Macs in „The Net” (1995) sind ja eher lustig als sonst irgend etwas. Der Film lebte auch nur von Fr. Bullock.

Aber was sich in „The Net” abgespielt hat, war fast noch realistisch im Gegensatz zu dem, was Jonny Lee Miller und Angelina Jolie in „Hackers” (1995) gezeigt haben.

Sehr „amüsant” war natürlich auch „Independence Day” (1996), als sich Jeff Goldblum mit einem Mac in den Computer der Aliens einhackte und diesen mit einem Virus (ich dachte, es gibt keine Viren für den Mac) verseuchte.

Und dann hab es da noch „Password: Swordfish” (2001) mit John Travolta, Hugh Jackman und Halle Berry. IMHO gibt es kaum einen Film, in dem der Umgang mit Computern schlechter dargestellt wurde, als hier.

Anoyances.org hat auch einen netten Artikel über „The Use of Computers in Movies”.

Den Vogel hinsichtlich „schlechteste Computer/Hacker-Szene in einem Film” schießt aber derzeit wohl die RTL-Produktion „Alarm für Cobra 11” mit ihrem “Backdoortrojaner/E-Mail Hack/Icon-Zugriff (man beachte das Icon!!!) ab (via EDV).
