A bad week for Microsofts Windows Vista
Businesses having second thoughts about Vista
Fewer businesses are now planning to move to Windows Vista than seven months ago, according to a survey by patch management vendor PatchLink Corp., while more said they will either stick with the Windows they have, or turn to Linux or Mac OS X.
No Vista for 2008 Beijing Olympics
The IT systems supporting the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, will not be using Windows Vista, Microsoft’s latest operating system. Instead, the computing hardware will run on Windows XP, according to Xie Long, director of Olympic sponsorship for Lenovo’s Olympic Business Department.

The two primary personal computers that make up the Olympic Games IT infrastructure will be the ThinkPad T60 notebook PC and ThinkCentre M55e. For the backend, Lenovo chose the SureServer R520, T350 and R630 servers. See
