Lenovo gibt „ThinkPad” auf?
The Register berichtet:
Lenovo, the desktop maker formerly known as IBM, is celebrating a solid set of quarterly results by announcing it will drop IBM’s Think brand two years early.
John Oates zitiert in seinem Artikel den Lenovo Chief Executive und Präsidenten William Amelio aus der Lenovo
Presseaussendung:
One important sign of this progress is our decision to completely transition our Think products from the IBM brand to the Lenovo brand two years earlier than planned.
Ich würde diesen Satz so interpretieren, dass Lenovo bereits vorzeitig „IBM” von ThinkPads, ThinkCenter und ThinkVantage Software entfernt (was ja zum Teil bereits geschehen ist) und nicht, dass die Marke „ThinkPad” aufgelassen wird. Ich frag mal bei Lenovo an, aber es würde mich sehr überraschen, wenn Lenovo auf die mehr als gut eingeführte Marke „ThinkPad” verzichten würde.
