… bei Sicherheitslöchern von Plug-Ins. :)
Es lohnt sich, nicht nur die deutschen Presseaussendungen zu lesen. Während sich Symantec Deutschland bei seinem „Internet Security Threat Report - 2. Jahreshälfte 2007” auf die Gefahren auf häufig besuchte Internetportale sowie Social Networking-Seiten beschränkt, sind die Informationen des US-Mutterkonzerns wesentlich umfangreicher.
So heißt es in der vollen Version des Berichts:
Another indication of the emergence of the Web as an attack vector is the continued growth in browser plug-in vulnerabilities (figure 1). Browser plug-ins are technologies that run inside the Web browser and extend the browsers features. They can include plug-ins that allow additional multimedia content from Web pages to be rendered in the browser, such as ActiveX®. In the second half of 2007, Symantec documented 239 browser plug-in vulnerabilities, compared to 237 during the first six months of the year.
Wie man schön sieht, war Microsofts ActiveX Technologie für 79 Prozent der 239 Browser-Plug Bugs im Zeitraum von Juli bis Dezember 2007 verantwortlich. Weit abgeschlagen bereits Apples Quicktime mit acht Prozent.
Ich freu mich schon auf das nächste „Sicherheits”-Gespräch mit Microsoft. :)
