IT inclined US-Prńsident Obama Embarrasses (US) Media Companies
Obamas attempts to show off US-based media and technologies by giving away examples of their works (DVDs, Ipods) deliver a perfect example on what is wrong with RIAA, IFPI, WIPO, … in these times of a global economics.
„Standards”, demanded and enforced by the US media industry (amongst others) prohibit UK prime minister Gordon Brown to play the DVDs he got from Obama because the artificial „boundary” of country codes.
As (US) media companies also claim, that you can’t „own” a song on your Ipod – you only license it – Obama apparently broke copyright law by giving 40 songs on an Ipod to England’s Queen Elizabeth II.
I wonder how long it will take Obama to realize, what he is constantly breaking „rules” invented by US companies. Or maybe he is doing that on purpose to render them null and void in the coming years.
