As I had a few days „off” (lol) I found time and some spare brain power to work through 2 months worth of vim-mailingslist-postings. I found some interesting stuff.
After reading Keith Devens - Programming Fonts and Monospace/Fixed Width Programmer’s Fonts I also decided to look for a new font for use in Vim. I settled on Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. I also installed Andale Mono, as it is not as high as Vera. I will inform you on my final decision.
Another nice plugin I found is „HiCurLine : Highlights the current line”. This plugin intercept various motions and cause the current line to be highlighted. Per default the highlighting has to be activated manually. But there is also a workaround to start it „automagically”. At least in my setup this has the problem of poping up a „[HiCurLine]” window, before you can edit the text. If you have an idea, why this is happening, please drop me a line.
