Lotusphere 2006 - Day 2
Session, interviews, sessions, and even more sessions. It was a really busy day.
ID101 What’s New in the IBM Lotus Notes Client
The tile says ist all. Nice overview of what’s new, what’s coming, etc. Heidi Votaw and Kevin Cavanaugh did a wonderfull and entertaing session,Kevin taking the role of the tech-head,”interrupting” several times zu „clarify” things.
There were a few nice slides:
ID115 Domino’s Intimate Relationship with Memory, CPUs and Storage
Eddy Bell and Andy Nolet gave a stunning, deeply technical and extremly interessting session on how Domino works on the different platforms, how itmanages memory and how the disc I/O is managed. There were quite a few good tips on how to improve performance. And by the was: They looked and talk as if they just went out of their labs, took off thier white lab-coats and gave their presentation. Two very cool and very knowledgable guys. Impressive.
INV108 The Future of Open Composite Applications with Hannover
Now this was my first wrong choice. Maybe I am too picky, but I expected a litte bit more information on the benefits of Composite Applications and how to do them and note some nitty-gritty details on a technology that will probably change a lot till it will be generally available. Also both were not native english speakers and definatey not used to present in front of a large crowed.Other stuff
As I also had a few interviews and other stuff going on Thuesday, I called it a day after the last session and went to bed. Tagged as: conference, Ein_Tag_im_Leben, Lotus, Lotusphere2006, Notes, orlando | Author: Martin Leyrer
