1. Extending value of Notes/Domino

Notes 7 for MAC OS X

Notes 7 is coming to the mac. Will include Sametime integration. Domino Web Access (webmail) Support for firefox on Mac OS X, not for Safari. Intel-Macs will be supported later this year. Thanks to Ed Brill, there are some screenshots.

Notes Suite for SAP Solutions

New Notes Template comming in Q2. Will provide end-user integration of Notes and SAP. They showed an example of generating a report of billable time for a project in Notes, accessing Projectcodes from SAP and sending the report into SAP.

Domino „Next”

The next Domino version will bring Portal Integration (Websphere part of Domino), Composite Apps (Portlets in Domino), Activity centric computing and new document management and team workspace cpabilities. Looks like IBM is putting a lot of Workplace functionality into Domino. Seems like the customers don’t like Workplace. ;)

Hannover Client

Showed running code. Preview pane can now be placed on the right side (can you say „Outlook”?), showed lots of usability enhancments and Wokrplace-Components in the next Client. New screenshots can be found at Ed Brills blog.

2. Realtime collaboration

Sametime 7.5

New Sametimeclient 7.5. Eclipse based, running on Windows, Linux, Mac. New Plug-In architecture, enabeling new services through third-parties (look up team-members on Google Maps, …). Lots of usaibility enhancments.

Integration of public networks

IBM offers connectivity to AIM, ICQ und Yahoo for free (MS charges for that). Integration also with Google talk! (jabber).,

Workplace

IBM also announced the general availability of Workplace Collaborative Services 2.6, Workplace Managed Client 2.6, and Workplace Designer. Workpalce Forms 2.6 will ship in Q2.
