Exchange datastore, chapter whatever
Wild Bill ha a posting in his blog I just have to link to, as these space limitations in Exchange are a hobby of mine:
as the Exchange „Jet” store is inherently unreliable, and most folks dont manage that well. They manage it by limiting user space to 150mb or below.
(The averages I see in Domino environments is *no limit*, 500mb, 150mb for temps. Largest single mail file - 12gb. Thats an entire exchange 2003 pre-sp1 data store).
For the slower ones, let me repeat it here: Notes can handle a single, 12 GB „mailfile”, which is more than ONE Exchange 2003 datastore could support pre SP1, without any problems.
If you take a look at Bill’s and Paul’s
„Worst practices” presentation
during Lotusphere 2006, you will see, that Domino can even handle a single mail the size of 2.145.397.995 bytes without crashing.
