LANG for Domino on Linux
Daniel Nasheds Domino on Unix/Linux Start Script are great. Flexible, modular, very well documented.
Unless, that is, you are using some „strange” locale settings on the OS level. If you follow the README files an properly set the language, eg. to „DE_AT”, you may only get gibberish in the Domino console:
04/20/2008 12:29:08 13:2C
04/20/2008 12:29:15 33:60: 0A:4C
04/20/2008 12:29:29 05:01
ConvertZoneToText: Warning Time Zone -1 not found!
The reason for that is, that the language setting on the OS level does not correspond to the langue set in the /etc/sysconfig/rc_domino_config_xxxxx file.
If you set, for example, „LANG=de_AT@euro” in the OS, it is not enough to put „DOMINO_LANG=de_AT” in the config file. You need to use the same string on the OS level and in the config file. Put in „DOMINO_LANG=de_AT@euro” and everything will work again and you get readable output on the Domino console.
