Linux Mint 19 -- Taming the Thinkpad Touchpoint on Speed
With the (almost) latest Mint update, after the reboot, I had the issue, that the Touchpoint was way too sensitive, sending the curser racing across the screen, making price movement almost impossible.
Release Notes for Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon
Fortunately, the Internet had the answer to this issue. According to the Linux Mint 19 (Tara) release notes, there were some changes made to the touchpad/touchpoint drivers.
Following the steps in this forum posting, I removed „libinput”
apt remove xserver-xorg-input-libinput
and replaced it with „evdev”
apt install xserver-xorg-input-evdev
If I find some time, I will play around to see, if I can get the Synaptics drivers to work as well. But right now, my Touchpoint is back to the sensitivity and speed I am used to, so all is good.
