Thursday was music day for me. Why?
a) Because Flo, Susannes younger son, asked me if I had CDs from Die Fantastischen Vier. As I am quite a fan of them, I surprisingly had „a few” of their CDs. I haven’t listened to them for quite I while so I played some during work on thursday. It was quite nice to hear the Fantas again.
And no, they do not look like these posers:
b) for some contrast, I went to a concert in the Musikverein
in the evening. The Wiener Symphoniker, Fabio Luisi and Viktoria Mullova played:
- Richard Wagner: Vorspiel zur Oper „Tristan und Isolde” und „Isoldes Liebestod”
- Alban Berg: Konzert für Violine und Orchester („Dem Andenken eines Engels”)
- Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Symphonie Nr. 3 a - Moll, op. 56 („Schottische”)
Wagner was OK, Berg was „exhausting” wherelse Mendelssohn was a joy to listen to.
Strange, interesting mix? Yes, definiately. But I wouldn’t want it any other way. :)
